Amazon is all set to invest over INR 2000 Crore to grow its operations in India this year. The company is aiming to strengthen its infrastructure and enhance the delivery accuracy and speed. This investment will also support the development of modern technologies for the attainment of networks.
On Thursday, the company announced the news and plans to launch new sites while upgrading the existing facilities across its delivery network. This investment will expand processing capacity, fulfillment speed, and efficiency across Amazon’s operations network, allowing the e-commerce giant to service consumers in India more quickly and reliably, according to a release.
The firm stated:
“This new investment builds on top of Amazon’s investments in creating on ops network that helps the company deliver to all serviceable pin codes across India. This investment will enhance processing capacity, improve fulfilment speed, and increase efficiency across the company’s operations network that will help Amazon serve customers across India faster.”
Amazon entered India 12 years ago and is operating in a 2-player E-commerce market with Flipkart, a Walmart-controlled E-commerce. Similar new companies like Meesho, backed by SoftBank, are seeking a space of their own by targeting a fresh set of users still unserved.

Tata Group and Reliance Industries are also investing in E-commerce. Other accurate delivery companies like Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zepto are now offering products in 10 minutes. This is another challenge for Amazon to enter a fast commerce space.
Abhinav Singh, VP-Operations, Amazon India and Australia, mentioned:
“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure—designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country. These latest investments reflect our commitment to continually expand and upgrade our operations across our fulfilment, sortation and delivery network.”
Amazon also launched a widespread initiative to provide free health check-ups to more than 80,000 delivery associates and partners in medical camps by the end of this year.
