While LinkedIn users appear to have adopted AI, one area has experienced less adoption than expected, according to CEO Ryan Roslansky: AI-generated tips for improving your LinkedIn posts.
“It’s not as popular as I thought it would be, quite frankly,” Roslansky mentioned. When questioned why, he claimed that the “barrier to posting on LinkedIn is much higher” because “this is your resume online.” Individuals risk serious consequences if they submit anything generated by AI.
“If you’re getting called out on X or TikTok, that’s one thing,” he remarked. “But when you’re getting called out on LinkedIn, it impacts your ability to create economic opportunity for yourself.”
At the same time, Roslansky stated that the professional social network has experienced a 6 times growth in positions that require AI-related abilities in the last year, while the number of users adding AI skills to their profiles has increased 20 times.
And he admitted to using AI himself while speaking with his employer, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: “Every time I send him an email, I hit the Copilot button to make sure I sound Satya-smart.”
