Qualcomm, the U.S. Chipmaker, recently launched an AI research and development centre in Vietnam (Southeast Asia) on Tuesday. The AI research center’s researchers will focus on advancing agentic and generative AI solutions for PCs, smartphones, automotive, IoT applications, and XR.
Qualcomm mentioned that this advancement is aligned with Vietnam’s AI, semiconductors, and digital transformation strategies. It will be focused on transforming technology, competence, and an interconnected ecosystem.
The meeting was held on Tuesday in Hanoi, Vietnam, with Alex Rogers, the president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL) and Global Affairs of Qualcomm Incorporated.
To Lam, a Vietnamese politician, also encouraged the company to continue expanding its operations in the country. It involves semiconductors and digital infrastructure businesses.
