What You Need to Know About Microsoft’s Latest Layoffs

Microsoft has announced its third round of job cuts for the year, mostly affecting its sales division and other customer-facing positions. This follows earlier rounds in May, which resulted in over 6,000 job layoffs (over 3% of its global workforce) and more cuts affecting over 300 roles weeks later. Chipmaker Intel has also announced plans for significant personnel reductions, expecting to lay off between 15% and 20% of its employees in the Intel Foundry division beginning in July.
