OnePlus’s IoT products include wireless neckbands and True Wireless Stereo devices. Production of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband has started locally.
On Wednesday, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus announced that it has teamed up with Optiemus Electronics Ltd (OEL) to produce Internet of Things (IoT) devices in India. Wireless neckbands and TWS (True Wireless Stereo) devices are among OnePlus’s IoT offerings.
According to the announcement, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband is now being produced locally. The strategic alliance supports OnePlus’ long-term goals for India and the recent Starlight project, which aims to improve localization efforts in the area.

Over the next three years, OnePlus intends to invest up to Rs 6,000 crore in its India business, the company revealed in December. The business would invest Rs 2,000 crore a year under Project Starlight, its strategic effort, to promote product innovation and improve client services. The company stated:
“OnePlus is extending efforts towards expanding its local manufacturing capabilities and has now begun manufacturing its IoT portfolio of products in the Noida-based facility, in addition to its existing smartphone range being made in India.“
It further stated that OEL (Optiemus Electronics Limited) will assist in increasing the brand’s supply chain resilience, reduce costs, and improve the Bill of Materials (BOM) localization. At 1430 hours, OEL parent company Optiemus Infracom’s shares surged over 10% to trade at Rs 676.30 per share on the BSE.
